Phish at Saratoga Springs (SPAC), New York Setlist

Phish's 2009 Summer Tour ended tonight. The tour encompassed approximately 8,200 miles of possible driving between shows, with 1,910 of those miles occuring between The Gorge and Chicago alone.

And what tour closer in the rain at SPAC it was!!! Honestly, could the final song choices have summed up their comeback any better? Trey, Mike, Page and Jon -- thanks for a summer full of incredible musical (and otherwise) memories.

Okay, so I think we're getting a little out of control with the stats for these songs. "First Halley's Comet> Rock and Roll or vice versa"... I mean, come on. Who really cares? I'm sure it's the first time phish has played harpua in the same show as Cars, Trucks, Buses. Please don't take these stats too far. When a song has been played 12 times since the break up it's NOT a rare song.

I feel the need to reply to your comments. First, I am not going nuts with the stats. The stats are the stats -- they exist independent of my feelings for the band and its music. Second, being that Halley's Comet and Rock and Roll are two huge Phan favorites, I found it significant that these two songs have never before been paired together. I'm not combing through stats, looking at every little thing (like your example of Harpua and CTB) and trying to make something of it. Third, Llama has been played 12 times since May of 2000, not 12 times since their return. I agree, any song performed 12 times since they came back would not be noteworthy. Llama, a pretty popular song, only being dusted off 12 times over a span of 143 shows, when it was played 76 times in 1991 alone and 989 times between 1990 and 1999 makes those 12 performances extremely significant, don't you think? And therefore, worthy of a mention.

Oh, by the way, Cars Trucks Buses and Harpua appeared in the same show at Las Vegas 12/6/96, which is an official live album released by Phish in 2007, and also at The Clifford Ball, 8/17/96, also and official release. I'm just sayin' ... It's all done in fun, my friend. All in the fun of the Phish experience.
